EK 782 Films is a new production company based in the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria.
The company is an ethical, talent-focused company dedicated to producing, financing, and distributing quality films and TV for local and international audiences.
We operate in Africa and the Middle East and develop commercial stories that speak to the powerful cultural movements arising in the cities of Lagos, Johannesburg, Dubai and Riyadh.
Producer / Writer
Stephen Strachan is the principal founder of EK 782 Films and produces and writes from the United Arab Emirates focusing on international projects in the Middle East and Africa.
Stephen has worked as a producer and writer throughout the Middle East working with regional and international producers, directors and writers on premium feature films and TV series. Stephen has worked on films shooting in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Qatar.
Stephen founded the successful production company, Film Solutions, based in Abu Dhabi which produced two feature films; Scales directed by Saudi director, Shahad Ameen shot in Oman which went on to win prizes at Venice Film Festival, Singapore International Film Festival and appear at London Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival and SXSW and How I Got There, a feature film shot in Kuwait City which recently won the audience award at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
Stephen also co-wrote Saudi feature film Norah with writer-director Tawfik AlZaidi which went on to win the audience award at the Red Sea International Film Festival in 2023.
Prior to EK 782 Stephen was a Film Commissioner in Saudi Arabia for three years where he set up Film AlUla, a regional film agency in the county of AlUa, a landscape of natural beauty and heritage in the northwest of Saudi Arabia. Infrastructure projects included a cashback rebate system, incentive package, location permitting, film-specific housing, and the launch of a studio complex.
Before coming to the Gulf he spent over 12 years working in the UK film industry for companies including the British Film Institute, Pulse Films, Ealing Studios, Channel Four, Bedlam Productions and Daybreak Films.
Stephen holds a BA 2:1 (Hons) degree in English Literature from University College London.
Producer / Exec-producer
Enyi Omeruah is the principal partner of EK 782 Films. Enyi is a distinguished figure within the Nigerian film and television industry with extensive experience in music management, film production and literary talent management.
Over the last five years Enyi has raised finance and exec-produced a range of feature films from Nigeria including Banana Island Ghost (Nominated for Best First Feature Film at the 2018 Africa Movie Academy Awards, starring Chigul Omeruah and Bimbo Ademoye), God Calling (Nominated for Best Director at 2020 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards starring Zainab Balogun and Richard Mofe Damijo), Makate Must Sell (Chigul Omeruah, Blossom Chukwujeku, Toyin Abraham), and Ajuwaya (starring Rahama Sadau and Timini Egbuson),
Enyi is the VP for Acquisitions and Development, West Africa at AAA Entertainment, one of the largest African sales companies.
Enyi is also co-founder of ChudorMMC a literary talent management company in Nigeria representing premier talent such as Africa Ukoh, Voline Ogutu and Isaac Ayodeji. Enyi has played a pivotal role in fostering the growth of African creatives by providing a platform for talent development and representation.
Enyi received his BSc in Accounting from Delaware State University in 1996 and earned his MBA from Widener University in Pennsylvania, USA.
Development and Production Assistant
Erishka Coutinho is the development and production assistant at EK 782 Films. Erishka studied at SAE Film Institute based in Dubai where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Cinematography and Film Production. She then went on to study a Master of Arts in Documentary Production at John Moores University in Liverpool, England.
Erishka is known for her work as a casting director on The Misfits with director Renny Harlin, The Apartment and King of the Ring. Erishka has worked in television casting in Dubai for the live-action series of YouTube phenomenon MSA (My Story Animated).
Erishka has just completed producing her first short film, Birthday Girl, shot in Abu Dhabi in 2024.
